This is Lisbon’s most modern marina, a cutting-edge engineering project built for the 1998 World Expo. Its design was a logistical challenge, given the significant silting in the area and the tidal variations.
It has about 400 berths. Its distinctive technical feature is a double lock system, which ensures a constant water level inside the marina regardless of the tide, protecting the vessels and making maneuvering easier.
Current Function: Leisure, residential, and support for major nautical events. It is the nautical center of the “new” Lisbon.
