On June 6, the Tagus River hosted another successful event, this time with a special touch: 97 Dutch surgeons embarked on a team-building<\/a> regatta organized by Lisbon Sight Sailing.<\/p>\n\n

The event, which brought together experienced medical professionals passionate about medicine, offered moments of camaraderie, relaxation and, above all, plenty of adrenaline on Portuguese waters. Some even dared to dip their feet! Keep reading and you won\u2019t regret it \ud83d\ude09. <\/p>\n\n

Contagious excitement <\/h2>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

Even before boarding the boat, the group’s excitement was contagious. The surgeons of different ages and backgrounds gathered at Doca de Santo Amaro, dividing into teams of seven. The anticipation for the regatta was evident, and the promise of a different day full of challenges motivated them even more. <\/p>\n\n

After this division, the guests were accompanied by our team of skippers to the sailboats where the activity would begin. <\/p>\n\n

The Warm-Up<\/h2>\n\n

As departure time approached, the surgeons boarded the sailboats, divided into a total of 14 teams. Adrenaline rose as they adjusted their life jackets and received initial instructions from the skipper accompanying them. <\/p>\n\n

With the boats still docked, passengers took the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the vessel and discuss strategies with their colleagues. Concentration was mixed with excitement, and the atmosphere was one of complete unity and sporting spirit. Everything was ready to take the medal home! <\/p>\n\n

Finally, the sailboats left the Dock<\/a> toward the Tagus River, where a familiarization training with the maneuvers began, with all participants having the opportunity to steer the boat, hoist sails, pull ropes, and discover where port and starboard are!<\/p>\n\n

At the sound of the starting horn, the jury started the regatta. “May the best win,” we heard them say. <\/p>\n\n

With the sails hoisted, the teams worked together, coordinating their actions and making the most of the wind in their favor.<\/p>\n\n

Competition wasn’t everything. There was also room for relaxation and laughter, as the surgeons enjoyed the city’s scenery and each other’s company. <\/p>\n\n

End of the Regatta<\/h2>\n\n

After a competition of more than two hours on the river, the teams returned to the docks with smiles on their faces and a sense of accomplishment. Finally, the awards ceremony was a moment of great joy and camaraderie with all participants. <\/p>\n\n

This regatta represented a day of unity, relaxation, and achievement, allowing the participants to strengthen their bonds of friendship, work as a team, and, above all, have fun during their stay in Lisbon.<\/p>\n\n
