Historically, it served as the vital interface between Lisbon and the railway network in Barreiro (South Bank). After decades of underuse, it underwent extensive rehabilitation, reopening in 2021 with its original design restored.  <\/p>\n\n<p>It does not function as an overnight marina, but rather as a Maritime-Tourism Hub.
